Spring is a time when nature is waking up from hibernation and generously gives us bright colors and floral aromas. It's time to sing, dance, and of course travel! It's time to go for fresh impressions. I will talk specifically about the places that will make your spring vacation in Ukraine fabulous.



Tulip paradise - Kirovograd Arboretum




Not only Holland is famous for tulips. In late April - early May true tulip paradise wakes up - it's an arboretum in Kirovohrad. At this time around 500 thousand spring flowers bloom! You can relax in the beautiful green area,there is a lot of entertainment and attractions for children. In addition, you will have a delicious meal in a cafe, located in the park.

Uzhgorod "Sakura Fest"


The main town of Zakarpattya Uzhgorod is best to visit in late April, when it is all in pink and enveloped in the aroma. Japanese cherry blossoms here - it's called Sakura. Most of it is located on the embankment of the river Uh, where is the Linden (Sakura) alley. At the same time magnolias, Japanese quince, and other exotics start blooming in the town. You can really feel what is spring holidays in Ukraine.
In late April - early May Uzhgorod will host the traditional "Sakura Fest 2016": fair "Sunny drink", launching of sky lanterns, creative competitions, literary events and much more.
And, of course, the famous Uzhhorod Castle which dates back to the 11th century is waiting for tourists.

How to get: you can walk from the center to the waterfront Nezalezhna and Studentska 
Castle Hill - shuttle or transport along Castle Street (Zamkova street), which is passing in Kapitulna street.

Valley of daffodils


If you are caught in Zakarpattya, so after Uzhgorod, in early May, you should visit another wonderful place - Narcissus Valley. This is part of the CBR. It is located on the outskirts of town Khust in the Kireshi tract. Valley is unique because it is a natural array of daffodils, one of the largest in the world.
And in the center of Hust you should nspect the ruins of the Khust castle - according to legend, it belonged to the ancestors of Dracula.

How to get: from Mukachevo to Khust 66 km, there is a pointer to the valley at the eastern edge of Khust.
Buses, taxis can pick you there or walk 4 km.
Cost: 15-25 UAH - entrance to the reserve, entrance to the castle is free.

Сhocolate-batiar Lviv


The heart of Western Ukraine - Lviv is famous for its chocolate traditions. From 4 to 8 March 2016 traditional Chocolate Festival will be held here in Lviv Palace of Arts, this festival is dedicated to the International Women's Day. You can make a name chocolate trailer and make it full of sweets with your own hands.

Lilac in Kiev botanical garden


Lilac splendor can be admired in the National Botanical Garden in Kiev. There are 180 varieties and hybrids that grow on an area of almost 2.5 hectares. For its elegance and splendor syrinhariy remains unsurpassed. Best time to visit is May.

Lilac paradise in Krivoy Rog

How to get: The garden is located on the district Damanskyy. You can use the shuttle bus number 231 from the ring of 44th quarter or trolleybus № 18.

Rafting on Cheremosh


Relax in the picturesque Carpathian Mountains can be successfully supplemented with the extreme. Embark in a rafting tour on the river Cheremosh. How to get: The route will start from the village Dzembronya. It is 65 km away from Yaremche. In Tatariv you have to turn to Vorokhta, cross and pass Kryvopilskyy passover, near Verkhovyna, return to the village Iltsi. It takes around 40 minutes from there to the village Dzembronya.
There is a bus form Kyiv called Kyiv - Verkhovyna.
Cost: hour rafting with an instructor - 300 UAH.

Towards the Sun 2016


During this festival the blue sky of Kamenetz-Podolsk is colored. This year, May 20-22, you will have a great opportunity not only to see the ballooning festival, but also to play the the balloon. If you want to see Kamenetz from the bird's-eye view, enjoy the grandeur Kamenetz-Podolsk fortress, feel the spirit of the Middle Ages - you ought to visit the festival "Towards the Sun". In addition, City Day is celebrated on May 21, so large variety of activities and surprises is guaranteed.

How to get: there are regular trains and buses to Kamenets, but on the May holidays it's better to buy tickets in advance. The show can be seen in the following locations: Trinity Square (Troyitska Ploscha), Square Armenian market (Ploscha Virmensky Rynok), a stadium of school number 1, New Castle ramparts (Novy Zamok ramparts).
Cost: to see balloons and visit the City Day is free, but the fly in a balloon will cost a pretty penny - about 3000 UAH per person.
