Museum of dreams

Mysterious internal look of the museum.

One of the newest and most fun museums in Kiev on the street Chigorin, 55. It has no exposure as such, but there are many niches and mysterious chests, in one of which you can put a note about a dream you had, and the next time you come to this place you will find a response-interpretation.
In fact, you are the audience and at the same time the exhibit yourself, as well as a researcher of your unconscious. By the way, any of the chests can share with you other people's dreams.

Khanenko Museum


Even if you are not a big fan of art, the museum of Bogdan and Varvara Khanenko on the Street Tereschenkivska 15 is still worth visiting. At least because that the great beauty guarantees great emotional shock not only for creative people, but also is capable of transforming the train of thought of any man in the street.
The basis of the collection is a rich private collection of works of art collected by patrons Khanenko in the XIX and early XX centuries. According to critics, in the uniqueness and the presence of the masterpieces of this collection bears comparison with the private collection of Count Sheremetyev and Shuvalov Princess.

Postal Museum


As location it is perhaps the most central museum of the capital, as it is located at Khreshchatyk, 22, at the main post office on Independence Square. The museum presents the postal rarities of the last two centuries, showing all changes of postal services, its attributes, and the very organization of postal affairs.
Here you can find the old telegraph magazines of the XIX century, stationery, uniformed buttons, postman's bag of 1947 and much more. Also, an extensive gallery of photos that display all kinds of mail transport from ox sleds to bikes since World War II.

Museum of history of the toilet

Varieties of types of the toilettes.

Connoisseurs of sublime spirituality should not seek the "music of the spheres" in this museum, but to follow a rapid ascent up the steps of mankind civilization is quite real. The story began when in Bogdanenko Nicholas, the owner of the shop of essential items, friends jokely presented a toilet souvenir in 1995.
For 15 years, the joke has grown to Europe's largest collection of souvenir toilets, which went down in the National Register of Records of Ukraine. It is no secret that the history of hiding toilet seat with a complex flushing system started 2500 years BC, and the first toilets were available only to the Chinese emperors and to princesses from Crete island.
Once reached the museum in Pechersk, in the business center "Tower №5" (st. Rybalska 22), you will understand the origin of the painting "Night vase" and a new way realize the meaning of an ancient Jewish adage "money does not smell."

Toy museum


Although the collection of toys began to replenish from 1936, and the museum is expected to open in the 40-ies of the last century, because of the war and the ensuing complications event had to be postponed. Thus, the Museum of Toys in Kiev on Klovsky downhill, 8, appeared only in 2005.
The visitors are offered more than 10 thousand exhibits collected in the 30s - 80s of the last century, as well as folk handicrafts and toys made in our time. Here you can find antique irons, corn doll, "railroad",  constructor "Kremlin", groovy harvester, straw bulls uncounting number of mischievous pups and, of course, the legendary doll family of Bogomolets Academician.
Young visitors (girls) so loved combing the hair of the latter, so the wig is wore out and the academician family "gave" her their hair, however, the lace on her dress all the same French. In addition, of particular interest are the unique cheese dolls from western Ukraine with natural dyes put on. Unfortunately, not all toys can be touched, that is not always beneficial effect on the child's psyche.

Water museum

Permanent exhibition of the Water Museum.
One of the most interesting museums in Kiev is located in the heart on Grushevsky st., 18, in the building of the first city water tower, built in the period of 1872-1876. Interesting manner in which the exposition is presented allows to know about the comprehensive nature of all water - the water under the earth, on the surface, in different states.
But most importantly, the exposure fully conveys the water cycle in nature. There are also created the conditions for a figurative journey through continents: you become a witness of how glaciers melt, the rain falls, waterfall, geyser erupts. As for the visitors of a tender age, they are due to their children's harm can "change the channel of the river", like blow bubbles and try to pet a live fish that lives in the local aqua systems. In addition, the Museum of the water constantly holds various events and celebrations, which makes it even more attractive to visitors.

Museum of medicine


Mirror of the sons of Aesculapius was founded in 1973 on the street B. Khmelnitsky, 37, a former Anatomical theater, built by the famous architect Beretti in 1853. The museum exposition is primarily to attract those who are interested in all the stages of development of medicine in Ukraine from ancient times to the present day.
Except of stands original interiors with recreated figures of prominent scientists and physicians involved in the scene interpreting the most significant events in Ukrainian medicine are demonstared in the museum.
Visitors can see here surround center "Medical Assistance for Kiev defenders (August 1941)", as well as a multi-faceted dioramic complex "The regimental medical point." The second room contains medical equipment and a set of military field surgical instruments of the XIX century, interiors pf Obraztsov and academician Zabolotny Professors' cabinets.

Museum-pharmacy


A visit to the building of the first private pharmacy in Kiev of 1730 on the street Pritisko-Nicholas at Podol that belonged to the German Johann Gaither, will be interesting not only to people interested in medicine, but simply to indifferent to the dowry of olden times.
Halls of the museum reproduce atmosphere of the pharmacies of XVIII-XIX centuries, and the exhibits were collected throughout Ukraine. Here is antique furniture, imported from the western regions, as well as the pharmacist at that times was both a pharmacist and a healer, the reception, shop and lab are presented in detail. There are installations provided in the basement: a house of a wise woman, the basement of alchemist and monastic cell of Lavra of X century.
